ANNE MURRAY TOMMY HUNTER DUKE REDBIRD

I was Duke Redbird's manager for a bit, and I was with him back in 1970 when he was on the Tommy Hunter Show. Can you believe I actually met Tommy in the men's room? We were standing at the urinals next to each other, haha! Anne Murray was on the show too, and she was even barefoot! Her future husband, Bill Langstroth, produced the show. After the show, Anne, Tommy, Duke, Bill, and I were heading down the hall to the social room when I spotted Bill Bussey.

He looked like he was trying to hide from us! He was an announcer at CBC who did all sorts of jobs, but he also had this Saturday morning show called the Cousin Bill Show. It was just a bunch of country songs playing over and over while they showed endless footage of cows. It was so silly, but a bunch of us became huge fans!

So, I yelled out, "Wow, it's Cousin Bill! Can I get your autograph?" Everyone just stood there in stunned silence while I got a super embarrassed Cousin Bill to sign something. I loved doing stuff like that!
